Volume 19 Issue 12, December 2022

What's New for December?

All of my best laid plans got swept aside when we got hit with Hurricane Nicole at the beginning of November, so by the end of November all I had to show for things were piles of debris in the front yard and displaced flowers. I will say this, though. As long as I have lived in Florida (35 years on the Treasure Coast), this is the first time that the eye has gone over my head. I have been on the very edge of the eye at least 6 times, but never in the eye. This was the one. I missed it; it happened at 3 a.m., and I was sleeping soundly. I don’t need to do it again, so that’s fine.

The bad part about the hurricane is that it did some major beach erosion damage that caused many homes and condos to fall into the ocean. There will be massive clean up from that for years to come on top of the clean up on the West Coast of Florida who are still dealing with Hurricane Ian. It’s been a busy year for us Floridians!

Now that the Hurricane Season has ended, it should be back to work. I only hope that the hurricanes know that they have to stop now. Like deer only know that they can cross at the signs …

In the meantime, here is a tri-state marker that I hiked to at the corner of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. YOU ARE HERE!
