Volume 22 Issue 8, August 2025
What's New in August?
It’s hot out, and to combat that—at least in my mind– I’ve been creating and adding winter items to my stores. Right now, I am working on fall designs for blankets, totes, socks, and shoes. Yes, shoes. Fun stuff!
Since it’s been hot out, we’ve limited out activities to what can be done indoors and some small road trips in search of new furniture. One such trip took us to some remote areas of South Carolina. I must say as long as I have been traveling in and out of that state on various journeys, I have never taken the time to really SEE South Carolina.
You Carolinas have a most beautiful state; especially in the rural country. We learned about the history of Camden, which came as quite a surprise. We wound up there by accident and have been watching all of the videos and specials we can get our hands on about the city. There was a Revolutionary War battle there that was billed as the worse defeat we took from the British. I suppose it’s a big defeat, but the way the battle came about is sure to please history buffs.
For horse people (like me and my whole family), it’s home to The Steeplechase Museum and gorgeous horse farms. It’s also the first city in South Carolina inland. All in all, a side trip looking for fuel put us in the middle of a very interesting town. We’re going back to spend more time there and explore more of South Carolina.
I did not take photos in Camden; my phone is a terrible camera, so here’s a winding road in The Smoky Mountains National Park to enjoy.
What’s New
Notecards: For those of you who only need a little note card to stick in a gift or just a quickie note, I created a few 3x3s for you. I have been using them in my packages when I send them out.
Socks: I started creating socks awhile back, but got the urge to do some seamless patterns in Photoshop, which translate very well to socks. Back to school and garden are my current focus, but I have several writer's socks ready to create, as well. I ordered my own socks and they are so cool. I will do a video at some point.
Shoes: To go with my socks, there are matching shoes. I am playing around with two types of shoes: tennis shoes and clogs. Both have been fun to create.
Until next month,
Julie

Things to Look Forward To:
New Products:
Aprons: So far, only two aprons have made it into my store. A personalized baking apron and a nice/naughty Christmas apron. I will be getting my garden aprons out soon. I have no concept of time since I garden all year round here.
Wall Art: I have moved a lot of print in house, which has freed me up to offer 8x10 prints of my car art, my travel art, and some fun graphic arts. I can do this at a reasonable price, which is why I went this direction. I don't have many prints moved over yet, but I am working on it.
Bookmarks: I have some test product bookmarks that I am in love with, so you'll see them soon. I keep saying this, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I will have them! I promise!
