Volume 22 Issue 10, October 2025
What's New in October?
Time for fall leaves—yes, we get a few down here in the tropics—and pumpkin everything. There will be pies again this year, and hopefully, Harry won’t help himself to one fresh from the oven again. Lots of plans for the holidays, including tending to my butterfly garden as I trim back the long milkweed stalks that are poking out of the pots. Plus, it’s good to trim back the milkweed in the winter so the butterflies migrate as they’re supposed to. Or so I am told.
The tropics are busy, but they are relatively quiet this year. So far. I haven’t seen much from any of the storms that have been forming and spinning off to the north. We haven’t even had much rain, which is mixed blessings. I just have to water the plants more often.
I’ve been busy creating stickers for many occasions. I have a list of ideas that I’m working through, so look for more to come. I moved over to a more powerful PC for graphic work, so things are going much quicker now. My old one just didn’t like Photoshop much.
While you wait for more stickers and the smell of pumpkin pie, enjoy one of my marigolds. My mums from last year are still with me, too!
What’s New
Notecards: For those of you who only need a little note card to stick in a gift or just a quickie note, I created a few 3x3s for you. I have been using them in my packages when I send them out.
Socks: I started creating socks awhile back, but got the urge to do some seamless patterns in Photoshop, which translate very well to socks. Back to school and garden are my current focus, but I have several writer's socks ready to create, as well. I ordered my own socks and they are so cool. I will do a video at some point.
Shoes: To go with my socks, there are matching shoes. I am playing around with two types of shoes: tennis shoes and clogs. Both have been fun to create.
Until next month,
Julie
Things to Look Forward To:
New Products:
Aprons: So far, only two aprons have made it into my store. A personalized baking apron and a nice/naughty Christmas apron. I will be getting my garden aprons out soon. I have no concept of time since I garden all year round here.
Wall Art: I have moved a lot of print in house, which has freed me up to offer 8x10 prints of my car art, my travel art, and some fun graphic arts. I can do this at a reasonable price, which is why I went this direction. I don't have many prints moved over yet, but I am working on it.
Bookmarks: I have some test product bookmarks that I am in love with, so you'll see them soon. I keep saying this, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I will have them! I promise!
