The Yellowstone River is a significant source of water for the eastern half of Montana. It runs 692 miles through the state. It is a tributary of the Missouri River, and it winds through Yellowstone National Park. This photo was taken from a bridge in the park while I was practicing my "water shots". While the water does not look too menacing at this stage, from here it flows down the Yellowstone Falls in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone before making its way throughout Montana.
